I have been obsessed with Marilyn Monroe since I was a little girl. The dress she wore for the seductive Happy Birthday song to JFK is ICONIC. I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to recreate and channel Marilyn for Retro Stage.
1920’s Sequined Gown by Retro Stage
Introducing the fabulous 1920’s Apricot Sequined Gown from Retro Stage It is covered from strap to hem in sequins and beads. The lining underneath is nude to give the illusion of skin but keep you completely covered.
Since this dress is 1920’s inspired it has ample room throughout the waist and hips. Most gowns tend to be a bit long on me however with this particular gown I did not have to have it hemmed. For reference I am 5’3 and am wearing 4 inch heels in these photos.
There is an invisible side zipper to keep the seams neat and help the lines of the dress fall flatteringly. The sizes available for this particular dress are Small-XXL. The only bothersome part of this dress is that the beading around the zipper can sometimes get caught and snag.
